Congratulations to TAA Members Rebecca Cross  and Mary Lou Alexander who have work accepted into the prestigious Quilt National '09 Exhibit at the
Dairy Barn Cultural Arts Center, 8000 Dairy Lane in Athens,OH, followed by a national tour.

Exhibit runs May 23rd through Sept.7, 2009.

Lorraine Glessner

Lorraine Glessner is an Assistant Professor at the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, PA.  Her work involves the complex interrelation of materials collaged in encaustic (wax).  Glessner’s works are visually uplifting, fanciful, rich in color and textiles, and details that challenge the imagination

Workshop

Exploring the Fiber/Encaustic Connection

TAA member Roz Kvet was juried into Sacred Threads with her piece "Out of the Darkness and into the Light" which hangs in the group therapy room at the counseling center at
DePaul University in Chicago.

The Sacred Threads 2009 Exhibition will be held June 17-28, 2009 in Reynoldsburg, Ohio (a suburb of  Columbus).  Columbus, Ohio is definitely the place to be for quilters in June 2009.  Besides our Sacred Threads Exhibit, other events of interest are the Quilt Surface Design Symposium and the National Quilters Association Annual Quilt Show.

Morgan Art of Papermaking Conservatory and Educational Foundation

The Morgan Art of Papermaking Conservatory and Educational Foundation is an Ohio non-profit art center dedicated to the preservation of handmade papermaking and the art of the book. This is the 20th Annual FREE Community Arts Parade presented
by the Cleveland Museum of Art. International and national guest artists join Greater Cleveland artists, families, schools and community groups in a spectacular display of bright costumes, giant puppets, stilt-dancers, handmade masks and colorful floats. Circle Village, which includes the activities, entertainment, and food, is presented by University Circle Inc.
