Lecture: Inspired! A Career in Textiles and WeavingJodi Kanter Weaver Jodi Kanter will talk about what has inspired her career of commissioned art works. Kanter’s works run the gamut from corporate to public commissions. Jodi also is known for her beautiful liturgical artwork. Jodi is European trained and works closely with architects and interior designers to create outstanding artwork to harmonize with any space. Her specialty is site-specific commissions of her hand-woven fiber art. Lecture free to TAA members and full-time students, $5 at the door for general public. Make Them CMA Green Room Alia Kate has been a fair trade
Moroccan textile importer since 2008, after working and traveling extensively
in the region where she had the opportunity to meet and learn from women
artisans. Her presentation on the lives of the Amazigh, the art of weaving in
Morocco, and the challenges of artisans
cooperatives in entering foreign markets is rich with personal anecdotes and
set against the backdrop of Morocco's political and economic history. |

CoCA's Images from a Blue-Green Planet Exhibit January 2 - January 31 Beachwood Library Corner of Richmond Rd. & Shaker Blvd. Open library hours
Members of Contemporary Cloth Artists collaborated to create the Blue-Green Planet quilt. The exhibit is enhanced by several dozen supportive pieces including works by TAA members, Christine Allchin, Saundra Bohl, Julie Clemens, Katherine Dunlevey, Natalie Isvarin-Love, Kathy Levy, Karen O'Hara, Judy Smith, and Anne Weissman.
