Personal Mark-Making: Textile Art and Innovation

Presentation by Louise Mackie

On Thursday, September 15th at 3 p.m., directly following the TAA lecture, Louise Mackie will be giving a short presentation of the latest TAA gifts to the museum in the Art Study Room.  Anyone that is interested in attending, please email Deirdre Vodanoff at dvodanoff@clevelandart.org .

Space is limited and will be on a first come first serve basis.  Reservations are required.

Dinner with Paula Scaffidi

On Friday the 16th of Sept. we will have dinner with Paula Scaffidi after the workshop on Friday at 5:30. People need cash for dinner and tip as we may not be able to use a lot of credit cards.

All-Day Shibori Workshop at Cleveland Museum of Art

(lunch on your own). Shibori is a Japanese tie-dye method for creating complex patterns, textures and color on cloth. A variety of effects are possible by folding, binding, clamping, stitchingand pole dyeing the fabric.

Students will use fiber reactive dyes on cotton, explore color effects with
overdyeing and complete a cotton scarf. Applications include quilts, wearables or
home accessories. Instructor: fiber artist JoAnn Giordano.$95, CMA members $80.
